3.3 MOSIS Technology File for Mentor IC Station and GDT (Contributed by Tim Heldt of Mentor Graphics) The Higher Education Program of Mentor Graphics Corporation recognizes the need for universities to be successful in the use of their software. Therefore, as a continuation of a project from a year ago, Mentor Graphics has hired another summer intern to develop the necessary files and documentation to make this hap- pen. The goal for this summer is to develop technology files and documention for a methodolgy of successful chip submissions to MOSIS. The files are targeted for the IC Station and GDT tool- sets. The project, started May 10, will continue until August 18. Currently, the project has targeted the IC Station side of the tree. The technology files are now complete. However, the docu- mentation is forthcoming. Therefore, I will call the development still in the "beta" stage. Several universities have been suc- cessfull in the use of the files and I know of one that has suc- cessfully fabricated several chips. The files will remain as beta until a much larger user base has been established. I will be starting development of the GDT side during the week of July 12. As with the IC Station tree, I will be developing tech- nology files and documentation. I will also be putting the files and documentation out on several ftp sites for ditribution to whoever would like the files. The only thing I ask is that you send me e-mail telling me who you are, what your plans are so that I can notify everyone of things that come up. The targeted ftp sites are: ftp.eecs.wsu.edu: /pub/Mentor/IC/univsig_lib.tar.Z cheers.erc.msstate.edu: /pub/mug/V8/IC/univsig_lib.tar.Z To be determined: ftp.mosis.edu supportnet.mentorg.com Tim Heldt Higher Education Program Mentor Graphics Corporation email: tim_heldt@mentorg.com Phone: (503) 685-1583 Fax: (503) 685-7989
