MySQL Tutorial I
For this part, you turn
in what you did in the tutorial AND the additional task outlined
above. Combining your answers with the rest of the homework
assignments in a SINGLE document to turn in.
- Valid EECS account
- Valid MySQL account (You already have a valid MySQL account)
- YOUR MYSQL PASSWORD
WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE LABORATORY

- Log into the EECS Linux Server cycle1.eecs.ku.edu
a) You can log into cycle1 from a Linux machine by
using "ssh" command to securely shell to cycle1. For example:
[xli72@1005-11 ~]$ ssh -l <

b)You can log into cycle1 from a windows machine by
using SSH client for Windows.
If you don't have a SSH client, you need download and
install one(It is required to log into EECS website by using
your EECS account before you can download)

Complete the following tasks. Then save the record of your

In order to save your interactive session, you can execute Linux
command script before your log into MySQL. For example:
- Create a table named Users with the
following columns: userID, userName, userAddress,
userPhone. The primary key of the table is userID.
- Insert four records into this table.
The username of one of the records must be Frank Wang

[xli72@cycle1 ~]$ mysql -h mysql.eecs.ku.edu -u xli72 -p
This command will save everything printed on your terminal to a
file named homework1 at current directory. For more information
