Textbook: Mathematical Logic by Stephen Cole Kleene
Homework: Homework will be assigned every Monday and is due on the following Monday by the end of office hours (at 5pm). Homework will consist of problems from the book as well as "Additional Problems" All homework can be found on the course website. A subset of the assigned problems will be graded based on correctness and clarity. You are allowed to work with others, but all work that you submit must be your own. Late homework will not be accepted. Your lowest two homework assignments will be dropped.
Quizzes: Every Friday at the start of class there will be a short quiz on the material covered since the previous Friday. Your lowest two quiz grades will be dropped.
Exams: There will be an exam on Monday, February 29th. The exam will consist of two parts: an in-class portion and a take-home portion. The take-home portion of the exam will be due the following Monday, and you may use any kind of non-human aid for this portion (though solutions must be fully self-contained). The final exam is on Monday, May 2 at 9:00am. The final exam will only consist of an in-class exam and will not have a take-home portion.
Course Grading: Grades will be determined according to the following breakdown:
Homeworks: 40%
Quizzes: 20%
Exams (incl. final): 40%
Letter grades will be assigned as usual.
