| Textbook: | Concrete mathematics by Graham, Knuth, Patashnik, 2nd ed | ||||||
| Homework: | Homework consisting of book problems as well as "additional problems" is assigned weekly and is due in class on the Tuesday the week after it was assigned. The assignment is posted to the course website. A primary emphasis of this course is written communication. Therefore, all homework must be typed. Handwritten work will not be accepted. Late work is not accepted, but your lowest homework score will be dropped from your grade calculation. | ||||||
| Quizzes: | Every week in your discussion session there will a short quiz on material covered in the previous week's lectures. As with the homework, your lowest quiz score will be dropped. | ||||||
| Exams: | There will be two in-class exams and a final exam. The first in-class exam will be on 02-15. The second in-class exam will be on 03-29. | ||||||
| Discussion sessions: | There are weekly discussion sessions which are led by your TA. Quizzes are given in the discussion sessions, homework is returned, and additional lecture topics are covered. Consult your schedule for the time and location of the discussion session. | ||||||
| Course Grading: | Grades will be determined according to the following breakdown:

| Honor Code: | All work submitted for credit must be the student's own. If you have worked with another student on a homework problem, you should indicate it in your solution. Such cooperation is permitted, but your work must be your own. Quizzes and exams should be completed without unauthorized aid. | ||||||
